Intercooler Kits

All AXT Turbo systems include simple and easy upgrade paths , the most common and useful of which is the Intercooler.

 

Over the years AXT has developed the most suitable intercooling systems to suit 4X4's.

For all "low speed, high power" situations the typical front mount intercooler has proven itself to be completely useless, unless additional airflow was supplied. the use of a Front Mount plus thermo fans does appear quite useful , until you decide you also need a winch or any other aftermarket accessory fitted to your vehicle.

AXT did utilise top mount intercoolers for years , with excellent results, however there were still some pitfalls. Some systems did need bonnet scoops or big, noisy blower fans.

The next step in the evolution of the intercooler is today's Liquid/Air Intercooler systems. These systems use a customised Water/Air Heat Exchanger, which has proven almost 60% more efficient than Air/Air type designs. Complementing the heat exchanger is the secondary radiator, which provides exceptional cooling and efficiency, without having to interfere with other accessories.

AXT Turbo can also provide intercooler systems to suit other aftermarket turbo systems, however it would be irresponsible of us to supply power figures, as these can vary very widely due to the actual turbocharger used and the boost pressures the units are operated at.

Liquid/Air Features

*Custom Heat Exchanger Barrel designed to specifically match to the engine size and flow requirements

*Secondary Alloy Radiator - only about 1"thick, so it is easily mounted, without interfering with other aftermarket accessories.

*Electric Hi-volume Bosch Water pump, designed for years a faultless service.

*High Flow Electric Thermo-Fan, flows greater air-mass with less RPM, for the ultimate in cooling efficiency.

*Independent Control Loom, only requiring an "ignition-on" sense source and connecting directly to the battery, providing electrical isolation, own fusing and relay packs.

*On Boost Sensing, so when the system is not required, it does not waste excess energy, resulting in even longer service life.

*Billet Alloy remote Filler Neck, and optional OE style Fluid recovery tank for high performance applications.
